The Jerusalem Connection is presenting a Rosh Hashana special from good friends, Inna and Michael Rogatchi of The Rogatchi Foundation, an international culture charity which supports and promotes culture, education, moral and historic heritage of the Jewish people. This original painting and the JEWISH MELODY original art series was created by Michael specifically for the series of events surrouding the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Vilnius (the capital of Lithuania) Ghetto extermination during WWII. Michael’s connection to Lithuania, Vilnius and Litvaks is very personal as parts of Michael’s and his wife Inna Rogatchi’s families are Litvaks by their origin. Both Michael and Inna feel a strong bond with this great group of their people, the country of their origin.
We here at the Jerusalem Connection rejoice with the Rogatchis and send our greetings to the hundreds of participants from all around the globe who are expected to come to Vilnius, once known as “the Jerusalem of the North,” to commemorate this sobering and significant mark in modern history. Michael’s JEWISH MELODY exhibition is a part of the official programme of the IV World Litvak Congress gathered in Lithuania in September 2013. Shana Tova from The Jerusalem Connection!
