Please join us this week to hear insights from Barry Shaw of the Israel Institute of Strategic Studies. Barry also has a YouTube show called “The View from Israel.” Barry is the author of several books.
Recently an Anglican cleric, Stephen Sizer, was disciplined by the Church of England for a history of antisemitic remarks, writings, and activities. The Church of England made its case for the discipline by proving Sizer’s violation of several concepts noted in the IRHA Definition of Antisemitism, which the Church adopted some years ago. “The accumulation of his crimes was brought to the attention of the Disciplinary Tribunal of the Anglican Church on October 2018 by Marie van der Zyl, the President of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, and was based on charges made against Sizer for his actions and words between 2005 and 2018” (Shaw, 2023).
Barry Shaw shares with The Red Alert the complete story of Stephen Sizer and why it is important for Christians and Jews to be aware of the situation, what it means more broadly, and what we can do about it in the future. The Saturday People and the Sunday People are under siege—and often from unexpected sources.
Shavua Tov. Have a great week.
