Paper chains are a great way to decorate your Sukkah. Just hang the chains all around the walls to give the Sukkah some color and life. You can use all different kinds of colors or prints. You can make ring chains or paper people chains. You can even write Bible verses on your paper chains. Write one word on each ring to form an entire verse. Or write one letter on each ring to spell: Baruchim HaBaim–which means “Blessed are they who have come” in Hebrew, a saying commonly put on Sukkahs.
What you need:
Scissors
Construction paper or scrapbook paper
Markers
Ruler
Glue stick or tape
What you do for paper ring chains:
1) Using a ruler draw straight lines (1 inch apart) from one end of the paper to the other.
2) Cut the strips along the drawn lines. Cut as many as you need to string along your Sukkah wall.
3) Make a ring with strip and tape or glue the ends together. Loop second strip through ring and tape or glue ends together. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat…until you have a great looking chain.
4) Now remember Sukkah’s don’t have regular roofs so there is a good chance the chain will get rained on but that’s ok because you can always make another paper chain for next year’s Sukkah.
