Holy Travel: Humus, Calvary, and a last wish to visit the Holy Land

Escaping the heat of the last weeks of summer and looking to travel north? Like many others, Israelis head to the hills on many a summer weekend.

Last March, I met a man who experienced a small miracle here in the Holy Land. Today I was incredibly saddened to learn about his passing.

Arriving in Israel in 1999 I was a bit thrown. The place was so modern! Tall office blocks, modern hotels, tarmac streets, taxis, and shops selling tourist’s trinkets all left the world I thought I had come to experience – the world of Jesus – seemingly far, far away.

Sometimes it isn’t the ancient stones that are the most exciting news out of Israel. Today the people are living stones which communicate a unique story about what God is doing in our time.

I truly am making myself available to Him and to take in all that I am too see and experience. Honestly, I’m not looking for an amazing encounter with God while in Israel….I’m seeking confirmation on His next steps for me…I have questions and He has answers.
