Mark 11:17
And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’“

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND BECAUSE WHEN I WAS ON MY VISIT TO ISRAEL IN 2009 I A CHRISTIAN WOMAN PRAYED AT THE WOMANS SIDE OF THE WALL.
Kathleen is 100% correct. Women have ALWAYS been allowed ot pray at HaKotel and have never, as far as I know, been disallowed of that privilege. This is “much ado about nothing”, in my opinion. It seems to me that the liberal American Jewish community is trying to stir up trouble where none exists — a tempest in a teapot.
I have been to Israel 17 times and have never not been allowed (as a Christian) to pray at the Western Wall!!!!! Also, women have part of the wall reserved for them to pray!!! I don’t understand the problem!!!!
I got the privilege of praying at the Woman’s section of the Wall 5 times also!!
To the honorable Jim Hutchins, I have followed your for more than 30 years, as an modern Orthodox Jew, I’m surprised that you have fallen into the “trap” of Leftist theology. Maybe time to rethink your position. In reply to you latest 6/28 ‘Truth Report”:
1. Every faith group in Israel has the same authority over its religious community for all social/familial matters, e.g. birth; marriage; conversion; and death. Do not single out only the Jewish Rabbinate.
2. It is UNTRUE what you said that women cannot pray at the Western Wall. Of course they can in the women’s section of the Wall. You have been there, you have experienced this.
3. All persons can come and visit/pray at the wall, and certainly Christians are welcome, just remember a few weeks ago the President Trump made a visit as a Christian.
4. Reform Judaism has always fostered a ‘progressive/liberal’ religious agenda of egalitarianism, above the biblical prescripts of separation (uniqueness) of sexes.
4a. It was also the Reform Judaism movement that opposed the establishment of the State of Israel.
5. Honorable Ret. Gen. Hutchinson, don’t go down this path of liberalism,
Thank you Dr. Jim Hutchens, that clarified what I have read in this regard and also Mark 11. Very good to see you back and well!
