Since early November last year, a large number of American Jews spent their time combing the media looking for signs of mounting anti-Semitism, and trying to convince the rest of us that president Trump was somehow indirectly responsible for it. This despite layers of evidence to the contrary: the fact that his daughter, son-in-law, and three grandchildren are orthodox Jews; that his most trusted advisers in business are dedicated Zionist Jews; that Jews are overrepresented in his administration’s staff and cabinet; and that he has moved quickly to give Israel the pride of place in his foreign policy priorities, from Iran to counter-terrorism, to our radically changed posture in the UN.
More recently much was made of his dismissal of the demand to formally “denounce anti-Semitism”, as if his incensed rejection of the innuendo did not make it sufficiently clear that he is innocent of the insult implied in the demand.
The people who were doing this had sat through 8 years of a diplomatic brawl between the Obama administration and the Jewish state without a peep. They whimpered as they heard the former president dismiss Jewish victims of the Kosher Market massacre in Paris as “some folk”. Some even tried to convince us (before the betrayal of the UNSC non-veto) that Obama was the best friend Israel ever had, despite his cuddling of the genocidal regime in Tehran and his open door policy towards Islamists in the WH. These same people shrugged their shoulders as they watched the Democrat party slide into open hostility towards Israel, and drift dangerously close to accommodating Islamic anti-Semitism in its platform.
All of this was going on while a man like Louis Farrakhan mobilized his followers against the Jews in the heart of America. Not only are a majority of Jews not paying attention to this source of venom in our midst; some have actually gone out of their way to support his erstwhile follower, Keith Ellison, to chair the DNC.
The video clip is from a keynote speech Farrakhan gave last Sunday, February 19 in Detroit Michigan to a hall packed with adherents. Share if you care! Perhaps it will help refocus some people’s attention.
