The Light of the Light short art film is dedicated to the Enlightened Memory of the Inna Rogatchi’s grandfathers, Abram Elovich and Eliahu Bujanover. Both of them were top engineers.
Abram Elovich had been the son of devoted Zionists, and was instrumental during the WWII in the process of inventing and producing special anti-tank steel for the Soviet Army while in evacuation in Ural. He was the one of the pioneering steel inventors and engineers in Soviet Union. He belonged to the special family of hard-working Soviet Jewish engineers and scientists. His brother Solomon Elovich, famous though completely ‘secret’ top nuclear physicist working in Moscow, was the one of just five-member strong secret team dispatched by the USSR to Hiroshima and Nagasaki within an hour after the nuclear explosion, to research its consequences at the spot, by the price of their own lives, as ordered by the Kremlin regime. Solomon Elovich did calculate the date of his imminent death resulted from that mission with a day precision, and has died on August 7th, 1946, a year sharp after their mission has started. The mission is a top-secret in Russia still.
Eliahu Bujanover also was from the observing Jewish family who took a special care on providing the best possible education to all their five sons who all has become top engineers and scientists. Eliahu had been deputy director of a big radio & electronic plant in the USSR and fought bravely during the WWII. His brother Solomon Bujanover had been the outstanding and also top-secret Soviet military scientist, the father of the system that is known as ‘precision bombing’ which was crucial at the later stages of the WWII for the Soviet army military fleet against the Nazis, and many other essential military engineering systems.
Eliahu’s other brother Simcha Bujanover lived in Switzerland, Berlin and Paris and had been outstanding physician and author of many medical books which are still in use today. He was married to Eleonore Rose, the niece of Gustav Mahler and prominent member of the famous Austrian Rose musical dynasty.
The both of Inna’s grandfathers were strong, sharp-minded people and the Jews entirely devoted to our people and its legacy and traditions, even under unwelcoming circumstances for that of the Soviet regime and does not matter what. Inna hopes that this Chanukah reflecting art images will be a warm remembrance of both of her grandfathers’ memory.
