Think on this: “Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious. … I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved.” (Romans 11:11, 25)
Pray on this: Father, we pray that you would lift the veil of unbelief and that the faithful remnant of all Israel would be saved. In Jesus name, AMEN!
Good word, Jim. Your reasons why Obama hates Netanyahu and the Jewish people is, indeed, visceral and deep seated as you explain.
However, I must take issue with your interpretation of Romans 11:25. You made a little theological “twist” of your own regarding that Scripture. Paul wrote…”and ALL Israel will be saved.” You read it correctly, but then immediately said “a remnant, a remnant, not ALL, but a remnant.” May I remind you that the word translated “all” in English is the Greek word “pas” which means: all, each, every, the whole of, everyone, and everything. Consider also Ezekiel’s vision of the dry bones in Ezekiel chapter 37. After the bones have been restored with sinews, muscle, and flesh, they stand up as “an exceedingly great army”. (vs.10) Then the LORD tells Ezekiel, “Son of Man, these bones are THE WHOLE house of Israel.” (vs.11). The word translated “whole” is the Hebrew word “kol”, which also means: all, each, the whole of, every, totality, and everything.” C.S. Lewis made an interesting observation in his book, “The Case for Christianity” which may be apropos to this theme. He wrote: “We DO know that no man can be saved except through Christ. We do NOT KNOW that only those who know Him can be saved THROUGH Him.” God says over and over in the Tanakh (Old Testament) that His covenant with His people is eternal. When He says “all Israel”, both in the Tanakh and the Brit Chadashah (the New Testament), I, for one, am compelled to take Him at His word.
Dear jim,
I thought you would like to know that our little intercessory pray group have adopted the verse that you and Pat shared.

Thank you
