Think on this: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.”… “Even so, Come quickly LORD Jesus.” (Matthew 24:2-8; Revelation 22:20)
Pray on this: Gracious Heavenly Father, grant grace and courage to remain true to you during the days of intense difficulty that are coming. Grant us strength to stand firm in our faith when the faith of most will grow cold. In Jesus name, AMEN!
“A TIME FOR TRUMPETS” is a recent book (on WW II). How apropos this week that JIM’s report begins & ends with that signature blast from a ram’s horn! [Co-inciding w/ the annual FESTIVAL of TRUMPETS… (or “Rash-ha-Shanna”, as Dodger announcer RED BARBER used to mis-pronounce it every year at this time)!]
Such words of warning are not pleasing to the ear (or to “hear”)… but as this GENERAL Officer well knows, being fore-warned enables one to be “fore-armed” – at least in theory. If anyone within the sound of his voice is LISTENING! {I find his caveats resonate w/ the “aural imagery” of I COR 14:8 ~ continuing the ‘BATTLE-cry’ bugle motif. Hmnn… think this fall’s ‘Trumpet Calls’ are reaching 1600 PENNSYLVANIA Ave. ?}
Heading into this most sacred weekend of the year ~ the DAY of ATONE-MENT ~ wondering if anyone else out there is “heeding-what-they’re-reading”? May the “SHOFAR-sounding” T.J.C.I staff continue to “find-its-voice”… (as some of us “GOYSRUS” Zion-ists join our “FAST” friends Friday evening, in Judaism’s annual 24-hr period of abstinence). MAY WE BOTH EXPERIENCE A FRUITFUL FAST… (& “MAY WE BE INSCRIBED”.)
Or poetically, maybe “L SHANA TOVA” … rhymes w/ ” M A R A N A T A ” ?
As a watchman on the wall, Jim is warning God’s people to prepare for battle. We are in a spiritual battle for this nation. As Christians, we are in the army of God. We must be prepared for what is at the door. In Ephesians 6:11-12, Jesus said, “Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Jesus also tells us to be holy as He is holy for without holiness, no man will see the Lord. I believe many people will miss the rapture for this very reason. They have not set themselves apart from the world, but have joined the world and its lusts. We must set our minds on things above, not on things on the earth. Amen.
