An imam at the Al Aqsa Mosque atop Jerusalem’s Temple Mount has publicly urged the armies of the Arab world to invade Israel thus fulfill the great Muslim longing of destroying the hated “Zionist entity.”
In a televised sermon from Milan, Italy that was broadcast by Al Jazeera, Imam Raed Al-Daan said that Muslims everywhere are beginning to realize that “the Jewish state will vanish, and that the morning sun will rise on Palestine.”
Al-Daan went on to state that he and the other clerics who serve on the Temple Mount as part of the Palestinian Authority-appointed Islamic Trust (Waqf) “await the legions of the conquerors. We await the armies from Tunisia, from Jordan, from Egypt, from Iraq, from the Maghreb (Morocco and Algeria), and from the Hijaz (Saudi Arabia).”
To clarify that he was not speaking of a Palestinian state confined to the so-called “West Bank,” Al-Daan repeatedly referred to Muslims shouting victory cries from Israeli cities such as Jaffa, Haifa, Beit Shean, Lod and Ramle.
Although some would disagree that Psalm 83 is a prophecy, I cannot help but think after reading this that all of these nations mentioned are the group from Psalm 83 which will be vanquished by The Lord. As for Gaza, Zephaniah 2:4-8 gives an apt description of it’s fate: “For Gaza shall be forsaken and Ashkelon an desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day and Ekron shall be uprooted. Woe uto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites (translated as running assasins…a good description of what is there today)! The Word of The Lord is against you; O Canan the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant. And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds and folds for flocks. And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon; in the houses of Ashkelon they lie down in the evening; for The Lord their God shall visit them and turn away their captivity.”
