Think on this: “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people.” (1 Timothy 2:1-3)
Pray on this: Dear Heavenly Father, You have given us this promise: “…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
So, we pray to you. We turn from evil and look to you, our God. Please:
Unite us
Strengthen us
Appoint and anoint our next president
In the name of Christ we pray, Amen.
(This prayer is from Max Lucado’s 40 days of prayer for the USA)
Shelley, thank you for speaking the truth! We as Christians need to vote and we need to vote according to Bible principles! When we read God’s word it’s not hard to understand whol the right choice for America should be.
My, my, SHELLEY…
Don’t know if I’ll ‘have a good one’ (after such a strong essay)… but sadly, necessary.
[Necessity’s the mother of invention (& hopefully, PREVENTION) isn’t it?] As leftist libel barks louder (& ‘up the wrong tree’!), how dare opponents raise its voice?
You’re simply taking a cue (from a Jew) – Madeleine Albright (whose lame protest invited WOLF BLIZTER & his listeners to ‘really’ see whether the Incumbent cares if ISRAEL gets thrown under the bus)…
Two other ‘daughters of Zion’ – Caroline (GLICK) & and PAM (Geller) – venture a clear(er) vision:
Both are simply examining the “Emperor’s attire”… and dis-clothing the obvious (pun intended). The former asserts that liberals are left to “shoot the messenger”… and (speaking of buses) the latter is behind the brave ads, asking – “IN A CONFLICT BETWEEN SAVAGES & THE CIVILIZED, WHOSE VIEWS ARE YA’ GONNA CHOOSE (or use)”?
Saw a bumper-sticker this morning: [ “WAG MORE. BARK LESS” ]. May your tribes increase… and continue giving the slogan its reverse, essential due.
Shelley is right on, however I don’t believe the entrenched American Jewish community will be moved in such as way to change their “traditional” stance for the Democratic party. Historically, what has been the reaction of those who stared the “inconvenient truth” in the face? Good day.
Shelley, we live in a democracy and so I respect but do not accept your views. Israel is a very fractured society in more ways than politics. Many do not support the right wing Netanyahu line ( your views) and therefore would reject your four points, I do not accept your views. The US has and is providing excellent support in its bilateral relations with Israel. So as they say in Yiddish ; Quit Kvetching!
