BY SARAH STERN, EMET—
I have a childhood memory of my grandmother in her small Brooklyn apartment crying while holding a faded picture of her huge, beautiful, Hungarian-Jewish family, who, with the exception of one other sibling, perished in the gas chambers of Auschwitz. One of my aunts, who had the sensitivity of a sledge hammer, yelled at her, “Oh momma, stop it. It was their own fault…they should have read the writing on the wall.”
My seven year old psyche recoiled at the coarseness of those words. Yet, this had an indelible effect on me. I realized at a very tender age that the enemies of our people mean business and that we have a responsibility to take what they say at face value.
That is why I have often been shocked by the ability of many policy makers and pundits on both sides of the Atlantic to overlook, rationalize, minimize and spin the clear words of those who speak and write about their plan to destroy the people of Israel.
An extraordinary example of this bright flashing red light is today’s perfectly clear statement made by none other than Nabal Shaath, the Palestinian Authority’s Head of Foreign Relations. His chilling words were broadcast during an interview on Lebanese ABN television and aired on July 11, 2011. They were translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute, (MEMRI) and posted Monday, July 25th for everyone to read.
I plead with you, if you read any one thing this summer, please read Nabal Shaath’s speech pasted below in its entirety. It speaks for itself.
Here is what Nabal Shaath said in his own words. I am putting his last statement first, because it is the most important one to read:
reshaped the issue of the “Jewish state” into a formula that is also unacceptable to us – two states for two peoples. They can describe Israel itself as a state for two peoples, but we will be a state for one people. The story of “two states for two peoples” means that there will be a Jewish people over there and a Palestinian people here. We will never accept this – not as part of the French initiative and not as part of the American initiative. We will not sacrifice the 1.5 million Palestinians with Israeli citizenship who live within the 1948 borders, and we will never agree to a clause preventing the Palestinian refugees from returning to their country. We will not accept this, whether the initiative is French, American, or Czechoslovakian.
The recognition of a state is basically a bilateral action, which receives the blessing of the UN. This act, however, will make many things possible in the future. Eventually, we will be able to sign bilateral agreements with states and this will enable us to exert pressure on Israel. At the end of the day, we want to exert pressure on Israel in order to force it to recognize us and to leave our country. This is our long-term goal.
In my view, it will be difficult for a Black president facing a white majority to exercise his right of veto in order to defend his political platform on health, security, economy, and so on. President Obama will not make his presence felt in the coming 14 months.
Even though it is embroiled in domestic politics, the U.S. does not want to reach the point where it does not play the main role in the Middle East. But in practical terms, the U.S. does not play a role anymore in the Middle East, although it does not want to acknowledge or accept this.
What was the role of the U.S. in the “Arab Spring?” In the three weeks of the Egyptian , Obama changed his position six times. He is constantly reacting to events rather than generating them. What role does the U.S. play in Lebanon and Syria? What the role does the U.S. play in Iran? Do you even read about Iran in the newspapers? Nobody talks about Iran. They want to get out of Afghanistan and Iraq. Obama’s problem is that he is being criticized by the Republicans for leaving so fast. With regard to Libya, he is trying not to get involved, but he is being criticized even for sending drones. The U.S. has no real presence.
That last statement clearly indicates that, to the Palestinians, the United States under President Obama has become a laughing stock, an irrelevancy, in the Arab world. And as proof, Shaath highlights the fact that Iran, the most dangerous, maniacal brutal–not to mention genocidal– dictatorship in the region is being ignored by both the Obama administration and the American public. So much for our president’s “leadership from behind.”
Any person with integrity and intellectual honesty, reading this public pronouncement of Nabal Shaath, knows that it will be suicidal for Israel to give away critical land — the very land that provides the state with the strategic depth necessary to protect its people from the clearly articulated goal of elimination sought by Nebal Shaath and the Palestine Authority. Protecting its people is clearly the most critical responsibility of any government — and the government of Israel is no exception.
Let it not be said in the next generation — that today’s generation refused to “wake up and read the writing on the wall.”
The land of the Jewish people was given to them by God himselfe forever ! ” I will bless thoses
who bless Iseral and I will curse thoses who curse Iseral ” Palestinians will say ” Abraham was our Father also which is true . But what they do not realize is Haggar was a bond slave and Sarah was a free woman. Sarah was privy to the Abramic covenant given by God himself and Haggar was not ! Ishmeal started the Arab race and they have been fighting about it for over
2000 years ! They are not fighting over the Gaza Strip or the Golin Hts . They are fighting over
theological beliefs ! God said he would bless Haggar and Ishamel and He did . But it was not
intended to be because of Sara’h dis-obedience !
Everything is going exactly as predicted in the Bible. Country by country has turned their back on Israel. In September, we will see who Obama sides with at the UN. The writing is already on the wall as he has made it plain to those who have eyes and ears that he is not with Israel. When America officially takes that stand, I believe that God will then remove His hand of protection from America and all hell will break loose in this country. I’m also praying that He will spare those of us who love and obey Him by rapturing His children. Time will tell. If you have unsaved family members, now is the time to bring them to Christ. The time is short.
You are so right. There will never be peace between Israel and the Arabs until the Anti-christ is revealed during the Tribulation. Of course, the Arabs will NEVER admit that the Bible is right and the Koran is wrong.
We have only to give out the Scripture and to bring to light what they say about all who support Israel. This is the responsibility of EVERY Christian in the world today. Give out the Gospel and allow the LORD to work in their hearts, and pray, pray, pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
.
The things that are happening in the Middle East, and specifically in and to Israel, disturb me greatly. I would not want to be responsible to stand before Almighty G-d and be condemned for standing against His chosen offspring. I have been adopted into the family of G-d, and I am thankful for that. I have a love for the Jewish people and for Israel, and with the things happening in that part of the world it tells me that Jesus, the Saviour and Messiah will appear very soon. I want my heart to be clean when He comes, and I strive every day to keep it that way. Eternity is a long time.
And the “mainstream” media (and the academics who produce them) claim the P.A. are the “moderates”.
Yet is clear from the words of their own spokesman that they are dedicated to the objective of the total destruction of Israel.
Are the media fools who do no research? And are the academics the same?
I believe they choose to turn a blind eye to the truth.
I agree with what Mr. Giddens said in his statement. He made everything so clear and to the point. Israel has been forced to the peace tables many times by our Presidents and had their arms twisted, they were threatened and told no more funds or military aid if they did not go along with the big picture. Even be forced to go to the peace table, Israel has always been the first one to try and make the peace work. Israel and the Jewish people have given so much in order to try and live in peace with the Palestinians, but everytime the Palestinians have sent in human bombs that killed and injuried many Jews, they have fired rockets and lobbed mortors almost every day and night, until Israel said enough and went in and cleaned house. Then Israel was condemed by the world for protecting their people. I have often wondered if the US, France, England, Russia, China and others would sit by, day in and day out letting someone fired rockets and mortors at their people and do nothing about it for months as Israel did? I think they would have done the same as Israel, but would have launched a attack the next day, instead of months later. The PLO does not want peace or a homeland. If they really wanted it, why did they not go to Jordan and demand the land they were pushed off by the King of Jordan and kicked out of Jordan because they were trying to do to Jordan as they are doing against Israel now. Jordan did not care what the world said or thought about what they did. They protected their people. Look at all of the land that no one is living on throughout the Middle East. If other countries care so much for the Palestinians why haven’t they offered to let them have land to set up their own state? The reason is they could care less about the Plaestiiian people, they all want Israel destroyed and the Jewish People killed. This will never happen!! Israel is GOD’s chosen Nation and the Jewish People are GOD’s chosen People! Soon they all will see just how much GOD loves Israel and the Jews! We will also see who the god of Islam is, for he is not The GOD of Israel!! May GOD bless Israel and The Jewish People always!!!
