For the last five years, the Jerusalem Connection has been actively supporting the ministry of Larry and Dede Miller as they serve aging and impoverished Holocaust survivors in Hungary, Ukraine, and Slovakia. The Lev Project, named for the Hebrew “Lev” which means “heart,” is an association which has operated under Jerusalem Connection’s fiscal sponsorship. Jim Hutchens and I believe the Millers have a unique track record in serving “the least of these my brothers.”
The Lev Project was born out of a promise the Millers made while looking into the eyes of Holocaust Survivors that they met in Hungary during a previous twelve-year stint. They also spent five months with survivors in Israel. Fluent in Hungarian and knowledgeable about how to launch new and innovative produce growing methods, the Millers are committed to helping those survivors who are so financially limited that they often have to choose between food, medication, and heating.
