BY SHELLEY NEESE—
Ever heard of a L.O.T.I.L? It stands for a “List Of Things I Love.” What’s your L.O.T.I.L for traveling in Israel? I know some of you may have just returned from the Feast of Tabernacles in Israel. We would love to hear about your highlights. Here’s my L.O.T.I.L for Israel:
1- People watching on Ben Yehuda Street.
2- Eating falafel and playing chess outside the best falafel stand in Israel (Falafel Ha Gesher, Beer Sheva).
3- Spending the day reading and drinking coffee at Tmol Shilshom in Zion square.
4- Taking walks on Shabat when you can hear sounds of dishes clanging and families singing outside every window.
5- Riding a bike down empty freeways on Yom Kippur.
6- Sleeping under the stars on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.
7- Bartering for spices and vegetables at the Shuk.
8- Ordering a plate of humus at Lina’s in the Old City.
9- Spending so much time at the Western Wall you get a sunburn.
10- Catching the last bus before sundown on Shabat.
11- Seeing the sun set over the Dead Sea.
All of us here at The Jerusalem Connection want to hear from you! We need to know!
